The highlight of the day was the donkey lunch. We need not have worried how the donks would behave with all that food around.
All were on best behaviour.
Apart from the lunch we had a display in our barn on donkey care, the Donkey & Mule Soc., the Donkey and Mule Protection Trust and of course miniature donkeys.
We also had an obstacle course for all to practice on.
A hoof care demo was given by Liz Alexander with Paddy of the Trust being the model donkey. He has made great progress since coming into care. A sausage sizzle to raise funds for the Trust brought in about $105 and donations close on $195 totalled approximately $300 for the Trust. We had approximately 12 visiting donkeys and 2 mules. Number of visitors were 250 we think. [ too busy to count! ] All in all, a very successful and enjoyable day was had by all.
